How do I earn tips?
To earn tips you must first become a Bartender (tend bar). Then when you answer
questions you may earn real tips for your efforts. Tipping on askBAR is strictly
optional, but we encourage members to tip their bartenders for good service. Barfly's
can tip anywhere from one dollar to five dollars per answer.

A Barfly is a member of askBAR who asks questions to our Bartenders.

What does it mean to tend bar?
Tending Bar means providing answers to Barfly's questions. By signing up as a Bartender in a
specific category, you are eligible to tend bar in that category and earn tips.

What's the difference between points and tips?
Points are accumulated by doing various things on askBAR. We use points to decide who will split our
cash prizes. The members with the most amount of points will split our cash prize.
Click here to find out more about how to earn points. Tips on the other hand are real money awarded to
Bartenders for good service. Barfly's have the option of tipping their Bartenders when they receive good service.

Where can I look at previous answers?
On the askBAR.com Home page, click on any category and then click check question/answer board (There is no
need to fill in the question box). Once you've found the category page you want, you will see three tabs
on the top of the page. Click on the tab, "View All Answers," to look through all of the answers in that category.
If you happen to like how a certain Bartender answered a question, be sure to rate the answer by clicking on the
"Rate It!" button.

How do I use the Question Board?
The Question Board allows you to post an open question to all of the Bartenders in a category. On the askBAR.com
Home page, enter your question in the ask a question box, then click on any category, then click on post a question.
Once you've found the category page you want, simply enter the subject and question and click submit and your question
will be posted to our question board.

How do I ask a Bartender a question anonymously?
If you do not want to reveal your identity to the Bartender and other users, please check the box marked
"Ask anonymously" on the "Post a Question" page.

How do I ask a follow-up question?
We've provided an easy way for you to ask Bartenders follow-up questions, or to clarify the answers you
already received. In turn, Bartenders can also ask for clarification whenever they need more information from
users to answer their questions. If you've viewed your answer and wish to follow up, all you have to do is
scroll down the page and click on "Ask a follow-up question."

What do the ratings mean?
The rating for a Bartender is the average of the ratings given by members like you. Bartenders are rated
on a scale from 1 to 4, 4 being the best. Ratings help identify and reward Bartenders for giving quality answers. It
also helps identify Bartenders that are performing poorly.

How do I answer a question?
After reading a particular question from the question board, you can choose to answer by clicking on the
answer the question button. The member will be notified that you have answered his question and you may ask
follow-up questions for clarification.

How are my answers rated, and where can I see my ratings?
You (a Bartender) receive your ratings from the users who ask you questions. When you answer a question,
askBAR.com will send an email message notifying the person who asked you the question, and then he/she will be
asked to rate your answer. You can view the rating you received for the question by logging in to askBAR.com,
clicking on the "Inbox" tab at the top of any page, and then clicking on the Bartender Tab, and then viewing the
previous answers given.

How do I qualify to win prizes?
You can qualify to win cash and prizes by participating on the askBAR website. Tips are earned for
asking and answering questions, referring friends, rating answers, and signing up to become a Barfly or Bartender. The members
with the highest point total in selected categories will split the cash prize. At this time the cash prize
is $500, but as we continue to grow we will be significantly increasing the cash awarded as well as prizes
given to outstanding members.

What information about me will other members see?
Only your username, first name, last name, and Bartender and category specific profiles are visible to other members.

How do I add new areas of Expertise?
When viewing the question board, click on the name of the category and/or subcategory that you’re interested in. On the bottom every
category and subcategory page there is a "Be a Bartender" button, which you can click on to get to the Bartender
sign-up page for that particular category. Alternatively, you can click on the Tend Bar tab on the top of every page, then
find the category your interested in and then simply tell us why you are knowledgeable in that area.

How do I retrieve my answers?
When you receive an answer you will be notified via e-mail, and given a link that takes you directly to your answer.
You may also go straight to the site to check for your newest answers. Simply log in and you will be taken to your Inbox.
Your newest answers will be listed above your older answers. Just click on the subject line of the answer you would like
to view - it's that easy!

How do I view the previous questions that I have answered?
Log in to askBAR.com, and click on the Bartender Inbox button at the top of the Inbox. All of your answers in your categories will be
listed under Current Answers You've Given. To view the entire text of an individual question, simply click on the subject line of
that question.
